Scarsdale Synagogue Temples Tremont and Emanu-El

Community - Care2Connect PDF Print E-mail

Scarsdale Synagogue/Temples Tremont & Emanuel can be so much more than a warm place to attend services, worship and study together and a religious school for our children.  Our goal as a congregation is to strive to create a sense of community, a connection to one another, a spirit of belonging to a congregational family that shares and supports each other in times of simcha and sorrow.

The Care2Connect committee seeks to build and strengthen these connections by reaching out to members celebrating lifecycle events, as well as those who are bereaved or in need of special care and assistance.  Some of the services our network of member volunteers can provide include:

- Providing/Delivering Meals to ill homebound members or in support of a family during a health crisis

- Checking in via telephone with an ill/elderly or homebound member

- Visiting an ill or homebound member

- Transportation to a doctor's appointment for an ill, non-driving member

- Hosting a single or widowed member for a holiday meal

- Transportation to services (when available) for an elderly or non-driving member

If you or someone you know in the congregation could use a hand, please contact the temple office or a C2C committee member.  Likewise, if you would like to join our network of volunteers, please get in touch.  There are no meetings to attend, calls to make or events to schedule into your calendar.  Just let us know what you're interested in doing, how often you're available and the best way to reach you (email is preferable).  When a need arises, our committee will be in touch.  Whether you can help out once a month or once a year, it all adds up to a more supportive and caring temple community!
