Sisterhood's mission is to enrich Synagogue life, and create a "community" feeling among Synagogue members
Sisterhood meets at the Temple on the second Wednesday of each month at 10:30 am. We welcome new members and hope that you will join us.
The Sisterhood at SSTTE:
- Honors our B'nai Mitzvah and Confirmands at their services with Candlesticks, Kiddush Cups and books of Jewish interest
- Sends Chanukiahs and candles to our college students
- Runs the Judaica Shop
- Provides for "Break-the-Fast" at Yom Kippur
- Sponsor the Welcome Back Brunch
- Support the publication of the Shalom.
- Represents our Temple at the Women's Scarsdale/Hartsdale Interfaith Council
- Provide Adjust Educational programs of interest
- Underwrites a project for Mitzvah Day
- Participate in The Food Pantry
- Provides the funds·to purchase·the challahs for the Sunday school classes each week.
Take a look at Sisterhood's Spring Activities:
On Thursday, April 15, we will be co-sponsoring the showing of two films with the Brandeis National Committee at SSTTE. The films are "The Last Jews of Libya" and "Bene Israel" the story of Jews in India.
Our annual spring trip will be on Wednesday, April 28. Details will be announced as soon as they are finalized. Please plan to join us for an interesting and enjoyable day.
Save the date for our luncheon on Wednesday, June 9. This year our luncheon will feature a discussion of the popular book "Sarah's Key" by Tatiana DeRosnay which will be led by Toby Patterson. All are welcome.
